Gameplay Bugs and Inaccuracies both received massive votes over the two year voting period.
What bugs should be our focus next? | Votes | Percentage |
---|---|---|
Bugs during Minoc – Blackthorn Confrontation | 1 | 2.9% |
Slaying Demons in Valoria | 7 | 20% |
Raven’s Boat and Signal Flare at Valoria | 3 | 8.6% |
Moonglow Catacombs Elevator Bug | 7 | 20% |
Disappearance of Mariah and Jaana | 17 | 48.6% |
Clearly people miss Mariah and Jaana in Ultima IX! Definitely got this one fixed in short order and then released.
How much do you Travel by Boat in Ultima IX? | Votes | Percentage |
---|---|---|
Only if Raven’s Driving | 41 | 36.0% |
I love sailing the ship around Britannia’s Ocean… uh… sea … lake? | 40 | 35.1% |
Everytime I drive, the game crashes | 33 | 29.0% |
Rather an even split for this poll. Crashing appears to be a significant problem, but many still would like the option of exploration.
Next Task for U9 Patches Project | Votes | Percentage |
---|---|---|
Kill Nasty Demon Bugs in Valoria | 4 | 10.3% |
Fix the Magically-Broken Moonglow Catacomb Elevator | 9 | 23.1% |
Failures with Valoria Docks Signal Flares | 0 | 0.0% |
Find a solution to the VTOL Sigils and Runes | 10 | 25.6% |
Correct Blackthorn/Minoc Scene Bugs | 2 | 5.13% |
Add a few caves of goodies throughout Britannia | 12 | 30.8% |
Make a small island map of hidden treasures | 2 | 5.1% |
Pretty even split on this poll. Extra goodies was very favored. The Sigil/Runes bug along with the Catacombs Elevator received plenty of votes as well. Both of these bugs got fixed in the 1.19H patch.
Where should the Stones Town Theme by Arthur Varkvasov be used? | Votes | Percentage |
---|---|---|
FW’s Cove where Iolo moved to (it’s near where the Shrine of Compassion is located) | 23 | 48.9% |
What’s left of the Lycaeum | 8 | 17.0% |
What’s left of Empath Abbey | 6 | 12.8% |
The Farms of the Brittanies | 6 | 12.8% |
Vesper near Covetous | 2 | 4.3% |
Other | 2 | 4.3% |
Clearly a solid Stones Theme belongs following after Iolo.
What Forgotten World Path would you like to see in a Demo? | Votes | Percentage |
---|---|---|
Compassion | 14 | 15.6% |
Humility | 2 | 2.2% |
Honesty | 12 | 13.3% |
Justice | 6 | 6.7% |
Sacrifice | 5 | 5.6% |
Honor | 6 | 6.7% |
Valor | 4 | 4.4% |
No Demo, would rather wait for the first Milestone | 41 | 45.6% |
The vote was far from split here. If FW had succeeded in a new map(s), the audience preferred to see the first true Milestone rather than see a Demo.
What Minor Feature would you most like to see in Forgotten World? | Votes | Percentage |
---|---|---|
Functioning Inns | 21 | 21.6% |
Cabinets that contain Items via a GUMP | 21 | 21.6% |
Item Crafting | 23 | 23.7% |
Commodity Trading (e.g. wool, thread, minor goods) | 4 | 4.1% |
Karma Penalties for Stealing | 28 | 28.9% |
This vote was super split. The lack of adding new features was rough, as many of these features would have been wonderful to add. Stealing penalties, though, seems to be sorely missed for even a simple karma hit to mana was preferred over nothing.
What Bug is next on the Hit List? | Votes | Percentage |
---|---|---|
A Fully Functional Covetous Elevator | 8 | 15.4% |
Remove All Skeleton Respawns | 19 | 36.5% |
Fix Valoria-Jordan Shipwreck Bugs | 7 | 13.5% |
Valoria Signal Flare Scripting Bugs | 4 | 7.7% |
Rat-Mayor Scene in Paws | 4 | 7.7% |
A lot of minor fixes in Moonglow | 10 | 19.3% |
Another mixed vote, though removing Skeleton spawn points was a clear winner. This fix is definitely in the list for the last of our patches. We would like to have two final patch version to avoid major gameplay changes in the main patch release.
How to make magic more interesting and useful? | Votes | Percentages |
---|---|---|
Tougher Fights | 7 | 3.9% |
More Spell-Intensive Puzzles | 18 | 9.9% |
Magic as an Viable Alternative around Obstacles | 25 | 13.8% |
Tougher Fights and More Spell-Intensive Puzzles | 13 | 7.2% |
Tougher Fights and Magic as an Alternative | 19 | 10.5% |
More Spell-Intensive Puzzles and Magic as an Alternative | 24 | 13.3% |
All Three | 47 | 26% |
Don’t involve Magic anymore than it is | 17 | 9.4% |
None of the Above | 11 | 16.1% |
This poll is harder to analyze given it really needed to be a multiple choice poll with 4 options (wasn’t an poll template though). In total, Magic as a Viable Alternative got the largest result with 63.5%, while More Spell-Intensive Puzzles was a close second with 56.4% of the vote. Less the half, 47.5%, were interested in Tougher Fights to make magic more interesting. Only 15.5% either preferred no change to the magic functionality or preferred a different alteration to magic’s gameplay application. I really wish that either the DLL patching or Project Britannia 2.0 had been able to progress, so some of these changes could be broadly implemented.
What new Features would you like to see in FW? | Votes | Percentages |
---|---|---|
Blacksmithing | 1 | 3.9% |
More Armor Sets | 2 | 7.7% |
More Complex Alchemy | 2 | 7.7% |
Mining Ores | 1 | 3.9% |
More Weapons with Varied Effects | 14 | 53.9% |
Food Preparation (e.g. cooking stews and pies) | 6 | 23.1% |
New Features: something we weren’t able to even start coding. Additional crafting was clearly not highly interested, though there were a few who wished to make more than simple bread loaves in U9. The majority vote here favored More Weapons in the game with more variations in their effects – think about the impact from the Staff of Charming and the Frost Sword. That variety was definitely fun.
